THE DEAN/DAINS/DAYNE(S) GENEALOGY PART 5 William Thomas Dean and Children William Thomas Dean (1866 – 1941) Genealogy and History William Thomas Dean was born 7 July 1866 in Ripley township, Butler County IA to William Cyrus and Martha Buckingham Dean. Tom died on 13 January 1941 in Magnolia MN and is buried in the Westside Cemetery, 1 mile east of Magnolia village in Nobles County. Tom Dean was married to Martha Ann Ernestine Wassmund in Magnolia village on 20 March 1893, by Ira M. Cady, Justice of the Peace (Ira Cady was soon to be Publisher of the ”Magnolia Advance” Newspaper). Martha Ann Ernestine Wassmund was born 17 October 1878 in Malchow, Kreis Prenzlau, Brandenburg Germany to Ferdinand Friedrich August and Christine Friederike Wilhelmina Schulz Wassmund. Martha died 25 December 1950 in Adrian, Nobles County, and is buried with her Wassmund family in the Summit Lake Cemetery near Reading, Nobles County MN. Tom was this author’s grandfather. Tom and Martha Wassmund Dean had 14 children. Starting with Tom’s father ,William Cyrus Dean, there was at least one Dean family residing in Magnolia for 104 years.
