Introduction Take your quilts over the top by learning a variety of edge finishing techniques. This class will cover straight grain and bias binding, piping, no-hand-sewing required binding, prairie points and more! Your quilts will go from ordinary to extraordinary with lessons derived from award winning quilt judge Cody Mazurans book A Fine Finish Fabrics/Materials Needed A minimum of 8 - 12 x 12 squares of various fabrics At least 10 different fabrics - either ? yard cuts or fat quarters in coordinating/contrasting fabrics Small spool 18 gauge mason line - white preferred (a nylon cording found at the hardware store - i.e. Home Depot or Lowes) At least 4 squares of 12 ? x 12 ? low loft batting Supplies A Fine Finish by Cody Mazuran Basic Quilting Supplies: Rotary Cutter, mat rulers* Pins marking pens or chalk pencils Sewing machine, thread, bobbins Zipper foot or cording foot Scissors hand sewing needle Pencil and unlined paper Pre-Class Preparation Create at least 4 quilt sandwiches from your 12 x 12 squares and batting. Quilt, free motion, or baste your mini quilts enough to hold them securely together. If you have small finished project that you would like to bind, you can bring those in place of the practice squares. We will be learning 4 binding techniques in class - so you need at least 4 projects or practice quilts - one for each technique.
