SEX EDUCATION The transition from elementary to middle school is filled with many educational program changes. For many young girls, this transition occurs simultaneously with puberty, causing even more stress and emotional upheaval. For some developing girls, the onset of menstruation may trigger feelings of uncertainty and even anger as their body begins developing and changing. Many agencies and organizations offer instruction on sex education and safety awareness to students with disabilities. In addition, there are a number of good references and Internet sites that may helpful.
