This study aimed to assess whether circulatingconcentrationsofAA,DHAandotherfattyacidsareassociatedwithfetalinsulinsensitivityorbeta-cellfunction, andwhetherlowcirculatingconcentrationsofAAorDHAareinvolvedincompromisedfetalinsulinsensitivityingestational diabeticpregnancies. MethodsandPrincipalFindings:Inaprospectivesingletonpregnancycohort,maternal(32-35weeksgestation)andcord plasmafattyacidswereassessedinrelationtosurrogateindicatorsoffetalinsulinsensitivity(cordplasmaglucose-to-insulin ratio,proinsulinconcentration)andbeta-cellfunction(proinsulin-to-insulinratio)in108mother-newbornpairs.Cordplasma DHA levels (in percentage of total fatty acids) were lower comparing newborns of gestati
