The unreasonable or improper usage of Serratia marcescens, Prodigiosin and Prodigiosan were occa- sionaly found in Chinese literature, which may lead to the misunderstanding by the readers. By retrieving the internet resources such as specialized journal database, electronic dictionary, the related use condition about Serratia marces- cens, Prodigiosin and Prodigiosan was summarized. The paper aims to provide suggestions on the proper usage of the related terms about Serratia marcescens, Prodigiosin and Prodigiosan.
