SupportingcollaborativeactivitiesamongtheonlineplayersareoneofthemajorchallengesintheareaofMassivelyMultiplayer OnlineGames(MMOG),sincetheyincreasetherichnessofgamingexperienceandcreatemoreengagedcommunities.Tothis direction,ourstudyhasfocusedontheprovisionofservicessupportingandenhancingtheplayers’in-gamecommunityand collaborationactivities.Wehavedesignedandimplementedinnovativetoolsexploitingagameadaptationtechnology,namely, theIn-gameGraphicalInsertionTechnology(IGIT),whichpermitstheadditionofweb-basedapplicationswithoutanyneed fromthegamedeveloperstomodifythegameatall,norfromthegameplayerstochangetheirgameinstallation.Thedeveloped toolsfollowadesignadaptedtotheMMOGplayers’needsandarebasedonthelatestadvancesonWeb2.0technology.Their provisionisperformedthroughthecoreelementofoursystem,whichistheso-calledCommunityNetworkGame(CNG)Server.
