Methods:15patientswithidiopathicPAH(IPAH)and10patientswithPAHassociatedwithlimitedsystemicsclerosis(PAH- SSc) were matched with 15 healthy control subjects and 10 patients with limited systemic sclerosis without PAH. Each subjectcompleteda6MWT.Themeannumberofdailystepsandthemeanenergyexpenditureanddurationofphysical activities.3METswereassessedwithaphysicalactivitymonitorforsevenconsecutivedaysandusedasmarkersofDLPA . Results: Themean numberof dailysteps andthe meandailyenergy expenditure and durationof physical activities .3 METswereallreducedinPAHpatientscomparedtotheircontrols(allp,0.05).Themeannumberofdailystepscorrelated withthe6MWTdistanceforbothIPAHandPAH-SScpatients(r=0.76,p,0.01andr=0.85,p,0.01),respectively. Conclusion:DLPAaredecreasedinPAHandcorrelatewiththe6MWTdistance.Functionalexercisecapacitymaythusbea usefulsurrogateofDLPA inPAH.
