We hypothesizedthatinheritedvariationinkeyPUFAmetabolicenzymesmaymodifysusceptibilityforCD. Methods and Principal Results: A case-control design was implemented at three pediatric gastroenterology clinics in Canada. Children #20yrs diagnosed with CD and controls were recruited. 19 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) acrosstheALOX5(4)CYP4F3(5)andCYP4F2(10)genes,weregenotyped.AssociationsbetweenSNPs/haplotypesandCD wereexamined.Atotalof431casesand507controlswerestudied.Themean(6SD)ageofthecaseswas12.4(63.3)years.
