Fatigue Damage of Helical Gear

Abstract: In order to meet the operating requirement, the precision design and machining for the
helical gear are made. Nonlinear finite element simulation software MSC Marc is used to calculate
the surface contact stress and bending stress of the gears. The flexible life of the helical gear is
also got with software MSC Fatigue. In the end, safe life factor is received according to the design
life and is a gist for helical gear design.
