Abstract: The elective setting a new one with the experimental high school curriculum reform a bright spot, and its settings can help to expand the students knowledge and skills to develop student’s interest and expertise, to develop students personality, to promote teacher professional growth, the formation and promotion of school characteristics, the diversification mode. China is experimenting with high school elective courses with a modular, diversification, hierarchical, flexible, credit and so on. The implementation of elective courses should correctly handle the materials, teachers and teaching issues. Evaluation of elective courses, including curriculum programs, materials, teachers, teaching and student learning assessment. At present, should strengthen the construction of elective management system and innovation.

Abstract: The setup and experiment of the elective courses is the highlight of the new round of senior middle school curriculum reform, which is helpful to broaden students knowledge and skill, develop students’ interests, develop students personality, promote teachers professional maturity , promote the formation of schools characteristics and the variety of the models in running schools. The elective courses undergoing experiment in China are characterized with module, diversity, elasticity and credit system. The implementation of elective courses should handle correctly such problems as teaching materials , teachers and teaching. The evaluation of elective courses involves the evaluation on curriculum plans, teaching materials, teachers and students. At present, much importance should be attached to the building and innovation of management system of elective courses.
