Students in scientific inquiry ability: Overseas Research and Enlightenment
Abstract: The current science curriculum reform on students ability to put forward demands of scientific inquiry, this is our country’s science education researchers and the teachers face a new task. Western developed countries in the second half of the 20th century science curriculum reform began to conduct the relevant research and practice, there are three major models of teaching and research and practical results can be we can learn from. These findings indicate that scientific inquiry capability is a complex structure with a high-level capability, scientific inquiry abilities can not be simplistic and stylized. We should learn from based on the results of the study and grasp the essential characteristics of scientific inquiry, using complex scientific research methods, the establishment of appropriate teaching and research models, from both theoretical and practical to carry out in-depth study.

Abstract: Students’ scientific inquiry ability is addressed by the ongoing science curriculum reform, which is a new topic faced by the researchers and teachers in the field of science education. But it has been addressed in the developed countries in the late 20th century. There are three main types of teaching and research models and practice results which we can learn from. These research results give us the implication that scientific inquiry ability is a higher level ability with very complicated structure, which could not be simplified and formularized. Therefore, by learning from some related research results, we should grasp the essential characteristics of scientific inquiry and build an appropriate teaching and research model so as to do more research work on theory and practice by using complicated and scientific research method.
