Methods:ParentswhoparticipatedintheNord-Tr?ndelagHealthStudy(HUNT2;1995–1997)werelinkedto offspringdatafromtheMedicalBirthRegistryofNorway(1997–2005). Themainanalysesincluded3497womenwhohaddelivered5010children,and2005menwhohadfathered2798 pregnancies.AllbirthstookplaceafterparentalparticipationinHUNT2.Linearregressionwasusedtoestimate crudeandadjusteddifferencesinpregnancylengthaccordingtoparentalheights.Logisticregressionwasusedto estimatecrudeandadjustedassociationsofparentalheightswiththeriskofpre-andpost-termbirths. Results:Wefoundagradualincreaseinpregnancylengthbyincreasingmaternalheight,andtheassociationwas essentiallyunchangedafteradjustmentformaternalcardiovascularriskfactors,parentalage,offspringsex,parity, andsocioeconomicmeasures.Whenestimateddateofdeliverywasbasedonultrasound,thedifferencebetween mothersinthelowerheightquintile(163cmcm)andmothersintheupperheightquintile(≥173cm)was 4.3days,andwhenestimateddateofdeliverywasbasedonlastmenstrualperiod(LMP),thedifferencewas 2.8days.Shorterwomen(163cm)hadlowerriskofpost-termbirths,andwhenestimateddateofdeliverywas basedonultrasoundtheyalsohadhigherriskofpre-termbirths.Paternalheightwasnotassociatedwith pregnancylength,orwiththerisksofpre-andpost-termbirths. Conclusions:Womenwithshorterstaturehadshorterpregnancylengthandlowerriskofpost-termbirthsthan tallerwomen,andwhenEDDwasbasedonultrasound,theyalsohadhigherriskofpretermbirths.Theeffectof maternalheightwasgenerallystrongerwhe
