Abstract By briefly exploring the differences between curriculum and syllabus and introducing six types of the
most influential syllabuses in the past few decades, this article gives some reflections on the design and implementation of
College English Syllabus for Liaocheng University. Initiatives of the new syllabus and periodical achievements of College
English teaching reform are also introduced. It is concluded that College English syllabus should be revised and perfected
under College English teaching practice.
