Which has become a very urgent task. Motor system energy-saving project is one of the ten major energy conservation projects during Chinas eleven five ?So how to design motors which is efficient, reliable, convenient to use and manufacturing is a problem worthy of study. As an important source of micro motor, induction motor plays an important role in the national production. The basic structure and operation principle of the general induction motor, the?task, process and specific steps of motor design were described in this thesis with the Y90S-2 1.5kW three-phase squirrel cage induction motor electromagnetic design as the core. The calculation of electromagnetic design is based on The calculation program of Small and medium-sized motor. The relationship between effective size, motor parameter, operation and starting performance and their own meaning are fully understood through the calculating. Besides the general design rules of squirrel cage induction motor are summed up. Then a CAD calculation program was made by ?MATLAB programming language. ?The program includes the iterative process and automatic curve interpolation function, and succinct and friendly GUI. It makes the electromagnetic calculation process becomes convenient, fast, accurate. Four electromagnetic scheme of Y90S-2 three-phase cage induction motor were made by using the MATLAB computer program.
