Then, the progress of the sociology of Translation Stud ies since the 1990s is outlined, and at once its lmi itations are pointed out: centrifugation, relativism and ethnography in term s of ontology, epistem ology andm ethodology respectively. astly, it ism aintained that, for the sake of vitality of the research parad igm, the sociology ofT ranslation Stud ies is to develop in two d irections: proportionate ontological return and enhancem ent of its exp lanatory pow er.
