S ince the fre quency and sca e o f increased m arked y, espec ia y in 2010, m any researchers are beg inning to pay c ose attent ion to the occurrence ru es, act iv ity trends and durat ion of geohazards triggered by ra in fa s after the W enchuan earth quake. Th is paper co ected the data preand postearthquake, and ana y zed the characterist ics and occurrence ru es of m ajor geohazards triggered by rainfa s in the ast 3years in theW enchuan earthquake area. Based on th is, the du rat ion, activity trends and high risk areas o f geohzards in theW enchuan earthquake areasw ere ana yzed. T he pre mi inary study resu ts indica te geohazard activ ity in theW enchuan erathquake area w i keep st i intense in future 20 - 25 years. In th is period o f t mi e, geohazard act iv ity eve appeared to dec ine in shock w ith the cyc e o f every four or five years. A fter that, the geo og ica cond ition w i be g radua y stab e.
