Key Laboratory or Nanomaterials o the Ministry o Education , Beij ing University o Chemical Technology, Beij ing 100029, China) Abstract: HIPS/ MHIPS/ CGATH nanocomposite is prepared by melt blending HIPS w ith MHIPS and nanoCGATH . The e ect o the MHIPS amount on the lame retardant and mechanical properties o the nanocomposite is studied. The dispersion o the nanoCGATH in HIPS matrix and inter acial adhesion between them are analyzed by TEM and SEM. The results show that the lame retardant and mechanical properties o the nanocomposite could be evidently improved by adding the MHIPS, and the addition o the MHIPS is bene icial to improve the dispersion o the nanoCGATH in HIPS matrix and inter acial adhesion betw een them .
