Verb Tense动词时态 The problem is normally in Present Simple tense. When referring to the paper itself, or what is actually in the paper, use Present Simple tense. When referring to what you did (methodology), use Past Simple tense. When referring to calculations or equations in the paper, you can use Present Simple tense (but Past Simple works too!).
