Confliction bewt een hum an water use and ecolog icalw ater use should be concerned to everyone in the city. W ackem agel and Reeshave developed a convenient too l to estmi ate the sca le of the impact of a city or a country having on the ecosphere. Water eco logical footprint sapproach extensively exam ines the relationship between hum an w ater consumption and ecological flow requirem ents for groundw ater and underground w ater in the city and hydrological carry ing capacity which is defined as the annual rechargeable water resources of the city.
