Currently, economical hotels have been expanding rapidly, such as “Jinjiang Inn”, “Home Inn” etc; they expanded their businesses by means of self-establishment, chain expansion, and management ideas output, this was a promising situation for hotel tourism development. However, it brought unavoidable problems under the fast pace and high speed of hotel development. Problems existed in development of economical hotels in Lanzhou, as well as the principles we should stick to, have been put forward in this paper through a SWOT analysis on Lanzhou economical hotel development. Based on the current problems appeared in hotels and the present situation of Lanzhou, proposals and advice were presented in this paper in terms of the sustainable development of Lanzhou economical hotels.
