Last but not least, my grateful thanks goes to my classmates and my family members for their valuable help and support. i Abstract As a leader of the famous revolt of the Younger Generation in the 1920s and the first American Nobel Prize winner in Literature (1930), Sinclair Lewis (1885-1951) becomes distinguished because of his intelligence and outright criticism of American society of his time. So it is not quite incidental that he is conspiring with the spirit of the times to become one of the most important novelists in America of his time. His achievement calls for a general recognition of American literature, especially that of the younger generation.
