# ${string# # substring}

#
Im going to start from the left
Echo ${str# a * c} # a to the shortest match of c
Echo ${str# # a * c} # a to cs longest match
Ill start on the right
Echo ${STR % a * C} # from the last character on the right begins to find the shortest match between a and B
Echo ${STR % a * B} # from the last character on the right to start looking for the longest match of a to B
I cant find a pattern here
# = = to fetch the substring = =
# ${string: position}
# ${string: positon: length}
#
Echo ${STR: 2} # begins extracting the value of the string from the second position
Echo ${STR: 2:3} # takes the value of three characters from the second position
# reverse extract substring
Echo ${STR: (-2)} # starts extracting strings from the second position of the reverse
Echo ${STR: (-2) : 6} # begins to extract a string of six characters from the position of the second character in the reverse (not possible)
Theres only two characters in the total number of characters. How about six
Echo ${STR: (-6) : 3} # 6, 3
Extract of the # position parameter
Echo ${* : 2} # takes the value of all the position parameters in the back from the second location parameter
Echo ${* : 2:3} # takes the value of three position parameters from the second location parameter
Supplement:
1) echo abcdefg | awk {print substr ($1, length ($1), 2, 3)} # efg, from the bottom third, fifth, namely the positive take 3 characters.
2) echo $string | cut - c 2-3 (the sec
