Standard difference between commonly used steel tubes
1, GB8162 and GB8163
GB8162 structural seamless steel tube, this standard applies to the general structure, mechanical structure with seamless steel tube, GB/T8163 conveying fluid seamless steel pipe standard, applicable to conveying fluid of general seamless steel tube. The main difference between GB8163 and GB8162 is that the steel pipe is subjected to hydraulic test or ultrasonic, eddy current and magnetic flux leakage testing. Therefore, GB8162 standard should not be adopted in the standard selection of penstock steel pipe.
2, other commonly used steel pipe standard
For pressure piping installation, quality control and inspection personnel, should be equipped with and understand the following commonly used steel pipe standards:
(1) GB3087-1999 for low and medium pressure boiler seamless steel pipe (2) GB6479-86 fertilizer equipment using high pressure seamless steel pipe (3) GB9948-88 seamless steel pipe for petroleum cracking (4) GB/T14976-94 stainless steel seamless tubes for fluid transport etc.

Standard for the manufacture of welded steel pipes (including petroleum, natural gas, industrial welded steel tubes) for pressure pipes:
GB/T9711-1997 technical conditions for delivery of steel pipe for petroleum and natural gas industries;
GB/T 3091-2001 welded pipe for low pressure fluid delivery;
GB/T 12771-2000 stainless steel welded pipe for fluid transportation;
SY/T5037-2000 spiral submerged arc welded pipe for low pressure fluid transmission pipelines;
SY/T5038-1992 high frequency welded steel pipe with spiral joint for ordinary fluid transmission pipeline;
SY/T6194-2003 steel pipe for oil and gas wells, casings or tubing for petroleum and natural gas industries;
