【原文】 子曰:“富与贵,是人之所欲也;不以其道得之,不处也。贫与贱,是人之所恶也;不以其道得之,不去也。君子去仁,恶乎成名?君子无终食之间违仁,造次必于是,颠沛必于是。” (《论语·里仁》) Confucius said“Riches and power are every mans desire. If attaining them is not by legitimate means, then do not accept them. Poverty and lowliness are every mans dislike. If staying away from them is by illegitimate means, then do not stay away from them. If the gentleman stays away from benevolence, then can he be called a gentleman at all? A gentleman does not deviate from benevolence for one moment at all. Not even in any dangerous crisis or in difficult situation. ” 【评析】 欲望无罪,孔子的思想不是清教徒的主张,并不反对富贵,只要取之有道,正常的、有节制的欲望也是人之常情。如果取之无道,定会得到报应,因而寝食不安,这并不是幸福。孔子不喜欢贫贱,但是如果因守仁道而落得贫贱,也要心安理得地接受现实。 Hesires is not guilty.
