The Department takes the responsibility of the supervision and management work on the Urban-Rural planning. The Department assumes the responsibility of guiding city construction work. The Department is responsible for standardizing the villages and towns construction with guidance. The Department is in charge of supervising the construction market and regulating the behaviors of the enterprises on the construction market. The Department assumes the responsibility of offering supervision and management on construction engineering quality and safety. The Department is responsible for carrying forward the work of construction energy-saving and emission reduction as well as the scientific development of the whole industry. The Department develops international economic and technological exchange and cooperation on housing and urban-rural construction programmes. 12.
