Morphology and dmi ens ion ofm icrosphere are characterized by scannni g e lectron m icroscopy ( SEM), adsorption kinetics and therm odynam ics of chitosan m icrosphere to m ethylorange is studied by ultraviolet2vis bi le spectrophotom eters and ni frared spectrophotom eters, adsorption mechanism is brie fyl discussed. esults show thatm icrosphere shape is regularw ith size ranging from 1 to 10 Lm. Factors of initia lconcertration ofm ethylorange, pH va lue and tem perature p lay a s ignificant role on adsorption. It is ob served that adsorption e ffic iency ofm ethylorange is 99. 34% at pH va lue 7. 25 and 2 98 K. The Langm uir and Freundlich adsorption m ode ls are applied to describe the equilbi rium isotherm s. 0 The Freundlich m ode lagreed veryw e llw ith expermi enta ldata ( R = 0. 997 4). The negatvi e values of$ G indicate that overall adsorption process is spontaneous. The I spectra ind icate that the adsorption process conta ins chem ica ladsorption.
