Unit 1 Let’s try to speak English as mush as possible. Ms James: Welcome back, everyone! Today, we’re going to talk about good ways to learn English. Ready? Who has some advice? Lingling: We should always speak English in class. Ms James: Good! Let’s try to speak English as much as possible. Daming: Why not write down the mistakes in our notebooks? Ms James: That’s a good idea. And don’t forget to write down the correct answers next to the mistakes. What else? Lingling: It’s a good idea to spell and pronounce new words aloud every day. Ms James: Thanks a lot, Lingling. How about listening to the radio? Daming: Yes, that’s good for our pronunciation too. But there are so many new words. Ms James: You don’t need to understand every word. You just need to listen for key words and main ideas. Daming: That’s the same for reading. English stories are so interesting. I get to know a lot about the world through reading. Lingling: I think writing is also important. Why don’t we try to find some English pen friends. We can write to them. Ms James: Excellent! I agree with you. 1.Who has some advice? 谁有一些建议 advice 表示“建议,忠告”,是不可数名词。要表示“一条建议”,应用a piece of advice “采纳某人的建议” follow/take one’s advice。“在……方面的建议”用介词on或for。注意advice的动词是advise，常用词组为advise sb. to do sth. e.g 我们建议他们及早开始。 We advised them to start early. 2.We should always speak English in class. 我们应该在课堂上一直说英语 should ﹢动词原型 -- “ 应该做某事” eg. 你应该吃一些蔬菜。 You should eat some vegetables. shouldn’t= should not eg. You shouldnt eat some vegetables. 3.Let’s try to speak English as much as possible. 让我们试着尽可能多的说英语。 1) try to do sth.是提意见的一种表达方式，表示“尽量做某事”，其否定形式为try not to do sth.“尽量不要做某事” eg. ①你应该尽量读些英文报纸。 You should try to read some English newspapers. ②尽量不要去吃太多的糖。 Try not to eat too much candy. 2)try doing sth. 译为“尝试做某事” eg. 她试着用一种新的香波洗头发。 She tried washing her hair with a new shampoo. 3) try ones best 尽某人最大的努力 eg. 谢谢你。我会尽力而为的。 Thank you .
