Tw o deflection-angle prisms w ere used to project a slit mark on the retina, then light propagated through the slit mark in tw o different directions based on the bending of deflection-angle prisms. T he slit mark image on retina w as broken into tw o images and the tw o slit mark images w ould be taken apart when the fundus w as out of focus. T he separated distances and directions of the tw o slit mark images w ere used to decide the degree and direction of the camera focusing. T he fundus camera w ould be in focus w hen the ima- ges of these tw o slit marks w ere adjusted to be in a line. Experimental results indicate that the focu- sing precision of the non- mydriatic fundus camera by judging the tw o slit mark images has increased by - 1 50 degree ( 0. 5 m ) as compared w ith that by judging the dark retina images, w hich show s this focu- sing method has advantages in simple adjustment and high precision.
