This nature has a great mi pact on flow control and queuing performance in newt orks, therefore it has received significant attention. By taking advantage of self smi ilarity ofnewt ork traffic, we propose a new algorithm, nam ed MPICAQM ( ynam icM atrix PIControlActiveQueue M anagement). This algorithm has wt o significant features. On one hand, itm akes use of linearity regression theory to pre dict the characters of future traffic. On the otherhand, it is capable to control the active queue based on the principle of predictability PIcontroller in control theory.
