M ethods The data of reported pandem ic influenza A ( H1N 1) cases in B eijing w ere co llected and analyzed for their ep ide- m iological featuresw ith SPSS softw are. R esults A total of 10 802cases of influenza A ( H 1N 1) w ere confirm ed in 2009, including 21 severe and critical cases and 73 deathsw ith a case-fatality rate of 01 7 percent. Based on the incidence dates of the cases, the pandem ic cou ld be d iv ided into four phases, i. e. , mi ported from abroad, local transm ission, local spread, stable and decreasing phase. There w ere 5212 percent of the casesw ere studen ts at h igh school, and 1519 percen t of severe case and 2313 percen t of critical case w ere retirees, respectively, w ith a m ale to fem ale ratio of 11 3: 1.
