School of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, Shanghai Institute of Technology, Shanghai 200235, China) Abstract: The concept of conformal factor and conformal invariance for Birkhoff equations was extended to the holonomic mechanical systems, and conserved quantities and conformal invariance under infinitesimal transformations of groups for the general holonomic mechanical systems were studied. The definition and the determining equation of conformal invariance for the general holonomic mechanical systems were giv- en. The relation between the conformal invariance and Noether symmetry of the systems was discussed, and the studies show that a Noether symmetrical transformation is also a conformal invariance when the generators of transformation and non-potential generalized forces of the system satisfy certain conditions.
