The technique includes wt o aspects. 1) E itted energy is auto atically controlled according to the range. For short ranges, low energy is e itted. In contrast, higher energy is used for long-range eas- ure ents. 2) In order to eli inate the trailing effectofe ittedwaves, thew idth of coveringwave is auto- atically adjusted according to the distance aswel.l The principle and circuits for energy controlby alte- ring thew idth of e ittedwave are introduced. Experi ental results show that the ethod is si ple and effective. Blind distance can be reduced to 0. 2 w ithin the easure ent range of25 by using the de- scribed ethod.
