Changsha Institute ofM ining Research, Changsha 410083, China) Abstract: Adopting the standard k-turbulent flow mode,l the internal flow field of the fan-shaped nozzlesw ith different struc- turalparameterswere smi ulated using computational fluid sofwt are. Keeping the projected area of the nozzles orifice constant, the influence on their internalstream flow state and velocity of the stream at the orifice of the nozzlesdifferent inlet structure and geo- metrical parameters of outletwere studied. The results are as follow: taper inlet structure facilitates the acceleration of the stream which assures the stream to be accelerated all the tmi e uringmoving in the nozzle. The velocity of the stream at the orifice increa- ses as the diameter increases correspondingly, but there exists a critical value of the diameter which influences the increasing trend of the velocity of the stream. the ratio of length to radius of the blind end and the angle of theV-shaped groove have no sig- nificant influence on the flow field of the stream and the velocity of the stream at the orifice. ey words: fan-shaped nozzles; numerical smi ulation; internal flow field; velocity ofwaterjet 1
