China Environmental Science. 2001,2 1(2) 119~ 123 Abstract Continuous flow experiment was carried out using acidogenic-desulfate bioreactor and it is suggested that on quality, SRB (sulfate reducing bacteria) is the hydrogen consumer and the remaker of the end products of AB(acidogeric bacteria); and maintains the typical characteristic of acetate-type metabolism of its population . On quantity, SRB maint ains dynamic balance between substrate chain and bio-chain , describing the dynamic of its population. The realized niche of SRB in the acidogenic-desulfate system is determined by its function; and the figure of three-dimension realized niche of its population is also presented, which is restricted by pH, ORP and ALK.
