In their works they described love more truthfully that was common in Victorian age England. Charlotte Bronte (1816-1855) Group work: Life and works: English writer noted for her novel Jane Eyre (1847), sister of Anne Bronte and Emily Bronte. In the past 40 years Charlotte Brontes reputation has risen rapidly, and feminist criticism has done much to show that she was speaking up for oppressed women of every age. What is feminism? The historical implication of “feminism ” actually means “movements for recognition of the claims of women for rights (legal,political,familial,etc) equal to those possessed by men. Feminism should be translated into “女性主义” rather than “女权主义”. Jane Eyre is an unhappy orphan and her life as a governess at Thornfield is filled with difficulty, including a shocking revelation on her wedding day. The happy ending finally arrives: Jane and Rochester are united forever. Read the story on p.190 and try to get the main idea: What impresses you most in the story?
