At the height of the peak, the car was speeding along the elevated highway in downtown Shanghai at a speed of over 90 kilometers per hour, which made me dumbfounded. I found that there was enough space left for the road construction, probably for future use. There are manicured trees on both sides of the road. I was surprised to find that trees about 5 to 6 meters high were transplanted from other places to the side of the road. Cant help admiring their wisdom and vision. I take a bus from a city called Ningbo to another city, Haining. This is the two hour drive along the Ningbo Shanghai expressway. We happened to pass the Hangzhou Bay bridge. The bridge was opened to traffic in 2008 at a cost of $1 billion 700 million, a six lane bridge, about 36 kilometers long. What a surprisin
