怎样理解Linux的文件系统(国外英语资料)
怎样理解Linux的文件系统
Linux all files from root, with a / representative, and extends to the sub directory. DOS/Windows has different partitions, and the directories are stored on the partition. Linux loads all partitions in the directory under root by loading. The closest thing to root under windows is C.
In a word, Windows, the directory structure belongs to the partition; under Linux, the partition belongs to the directory structure.
Under windows, different partitions are detected at boot time and assigned a partitioned alphabet. Under Linux, the system does not know the presence of the partition unless you load a partition or device. This may not seem like the easiest way to access a partition or device, but it offers great mobility.
This method of construction is called a unified file system that goes beyond the way windows uses it. Take an example of using /usr. This directory contains most of the system executable files. Under the Linux file system, you can choose to load it into other partitions, or even other computers on the network. The system does not perceive the difference because it shows only one of the many directories in the local directory structure. How many times do you want to move executable files and data under windows, and you have to modify the registry or simply screen the blue screen? Have you ever wished to move c: to other partitions?
Novice to another point of confusion is the use of slash / in the use of DOS/Windows, is the backslash.
In Linux, the windows of C is represented by /c/windows/system. Linux is a free system. Before windows, Unix had been around for a long time. From DOS to start using options as directory separator.
Even more troubling is that Linux also chooses case sensitive. This means that letter case becomes very important. So in this case, THIS and ThIs are different. This rule will cause DOS users a lot of trouble.
Now lets look at the planning of the directory structure of the Linux file system. Here is the result of t
