To enhance insurance edu cation is not only an essential path for the training of professionals. but also an important measure to promote the continuous development of insurance so as to serve the harmonious society better. According to the object and purpose. insurance education can be classified into insurance degree educa- tion. insurance vocational education and insurance universal education. among which the universal edu- cation has the largest number of objects and is the important link to promote the nation s insurance awareness. This paper. aiming at the insurance universal education. makes a SWOT analysis of the par- ticipation of universities of finance and economics in insurance universal education. It points out the nat- ural advantages for those universities to carry out insurance universal insurance.
