A b str a c t A s one of th e im p ortant econom ic organ ization s of W estern Europ ean society,th e C om pany p layed a very im portant role in B ritish city econom ic life during th e late M edieval tim es and T he M odern T im es. S ince the second half of the 14th century,w ith th e dev elopm ent of com m ercial econom y and th e app earance of C ap italist produ ction relation s, th e craft gu ilds continued to develope, w h ats m ore, by com b ination an d d ifferentiation, it form ed a larger organ ization th e C om pany. It adapted to th e level of produ ctiv ity, and to a certain exten t, protected and developed th e green shoots of cap italist production relations.
