因为有他,我才学会快乐.doc

因为有他,我才学会快乐 “Your father and I are getting a divorce!” My mother’s angry scream broke into the happy, friendly world of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. Even as a 6-year-old, I often escaped into the neighborhood of the kind, soft-spoken man who wore that brightly colored sweater. But on this day, any attempt to slip into my safe TV world didn’t work. My mom’s angry shouts made sure of that. Even though the divorce shocked my mother, it had been in the making for a long time. Dad hadn’t even lived at home for about two years. But now the marriage was definitely over, and my mother was devastated. As for me, I was scared and confused. Since my mother was having a hard time coping with(应付;处理) so many things in her life, it was decided I should move in with Dad. Soon Dad remarried and I had a new stepmom. Life at my dad’s house was full of arguments and fights, especially between me and my new stepmom. I easily became angry and threw screaming tantrums(发怒,发脾气). So my stepmom would try to discipline me. That only made matters worse. She’d yell at me. I’d yell back. She’d send me to my room. I’d stomp up the stairs and slam my door so hard it shook the walls. By the time I was 9, I felt like I couldn’t take it anymore. I’m sure my stepmom felt the same way. Then something happened that began to change my life. That summer, I spent a week with my cousins at Camp Joy, a Christian camp where my Aunt Diane worked as a nurse. It was an incredible week! Along with hikes and fun crafts(工艺;手艺), I heard every single day that God loved me and cared for me. What was really amazing was the way my aunt and the camp counselors made me feel special and valued. I also heard many talks about how a person can become a Christian. One of the speakers said God wants to have a relationship with us, and he wants us to join him in heaven when we die. But the speaker went on to say that there’s this problem: Everybody is separated from God by sin. God, who is holy, will
