Abstract: he Flexible Rolling echnology ( FR ) for online optimizing control of microstructure and properties of
steels is proposed to meet the individualized demands. he key points of such FR are to produce products w ith dif-
ferent properties from the same steel grade to realize mass customization, and simplify operation and management of
steel making and slab casting. wo examples of the FR are given, including t he steel product s w ith yield strength
from 200 to 400 MPa produced from plain carbon steel, and yield strength from 350 to 600 MPa produced from C-
Mn steel.
