Many people ________ studying English now. 2、意义一致原则。 即谓语动词该用单数还是复数取决于主语所表达的 内容在含义是单数意义还是复数意义。 如： The Chinese _______（是） very clever． 中国人很聪明。 Maths ________（是）my favourite subject. has are are is (一)语法一致原则 1、当主语是： 1)His father likes reading books. 2)I am a good student. 3)To study maths well isn’t easy. 4)Reading in the sun is bad for your eyes.5)Someone is waiting for you. 6)What he said is very important for all of us. They are good at swimming. The twins like going fishing. (二)意思一致原则 1) 表示时间、距离、价格、重量等的词做主语时,表示整体概念，谓语动词用单数。如： ①Ten years has passed. ②Ten kilometres is long. 2) 集体名词：family ， class ，team ， group 等。 表示整体概念时，谓语动词用单数。 表示成员时，谓语动词用复数。如： Class One is a very good class . Now Class One are having a basketball match. 3) the + 姓的复数形式，表示一家人,谓语动词用复数形式。 如：The Greens are moving to Guangzhou next week. 4) the + 形容词表示一类人时，谓语动词用复数形式。 如：The young under eighteen aren’t allowed to smoke. 5)不可数名词做主语时，谓语动词用单数，如果有量词修饰 的时候，要看量词表示的是单数还是复数。 There is a little milk in the bottle. Six glasses of milk are on the bottle. 6)trousers, jeans, shorts, socks, shoes, glasses…… 等做主语时，谓语动词用复数。但如果有量词“a kind of , a piece of , a pair of ”等词修饰时，则依量词的单复数来决定。 如：①The shoes look nice. ②This kind of flower is beautiful. The pair of shoes is very nice. Several pairs of glasses are on the table. 7)分数或百分数做主语时，依名词的单复数而定， 所修饰的名词是单数，则谓语动词用单数。 所修饰的名词是复数，则谓语动词用复数。 如：Three quarters of the work is done by the computer .
