A bstrac t: In th is paper, finite elem ent model of BodyInW hite( BIW ) of a carw as estab lished; theoreticalm odal analyses
w ere conducted; fin ite element modelw as verified bym odal tests of BIW ware. Based on the heavy vibration of the wh ite
body at norm al speed, the inherent frequency and sensitivity of each structu ral panelw ere analyzed; componentsw ith grea
ter sensitivity w ere found out. By com paring the relative sensitivities, the influence degree of the different area of the struc
ture was clear; based on som emodel optmi ization and mod ification, am ore su itab le structurew as obtainedwhen taking low
rank modal frequency as state variables and plate th icknessw ith relavitvely greater sensivitiy as variables.
