Capital The capital of Canada is the city of Ottawa, which is in the province of Ontario, located above the Great Lakes. Language Canada is a multilingual society with English and French as its official languages. About 59.3% of Canadians speak English while 23.2% speak French. Most French speakers (francophone) live in Quebec where they form a majority. Currency The official currency of Canada is the Canadian dollar. It is normally abbreviated with the dollar sign $, or C$ to distinguish it from other dollar-denominated currencies. Religion Like Americans, most Canadians are Christians.
