Module 3 Grammar Adverbial Clause of Condition (条件状语从句) Adverbial Clause of Concession (让步状语从句) 语法1： 条件状语从句（Adverbial clause of condition） 定义： 在句子中作条件状语的从句称为条件状语从句。 位置：条件状语从句可置于句首，也可置于句尾，有时还可置于主语和谓语之间。 时态：在条件状语从句中，用一般现在时代替一般将来时，一般过去时代替过去将来时。 引导条件状语从句的连词或词组： if（如果，假如） unless (除非，如果不) suppose/supposing (that) (假设) provided/providing (that) (假若，倘若) on (the) condition that (如果) as/so long as (只要) What if (如果…将会怎样) in case (如果，万一) given that (假设) 1. 表示正面的条件：if “如果” 引导条件状语从句最常用的连词是if, 由if引导的条件状语从句表示在某种条件下某事很可能发生。如: 如果你请他帮忙, 他会帮你的。 If you ask him, he will help you. 2. 表示否定的条件： unless(=if…not) “如果不，除非” There will be a picnic unless it rains. I was told I would pass the exam unless I worked harder. 说明： （1）unless 常用于警告语中。例如： Unless you change your mind, I won’t be able to help you. （2）unless 作“如果不”解时，常可与if…not互换。例如： He’ll accept the job unless the salary’s too low. He’ll accept the job if the salary’s not too low.
