Dr. Jingxin Wang Dr. Jingxin Wang is Professor and Associate Director for Research, and Director of Center for Renewable Materials and Bioenergy in the Division of Forestry and Natural Resources at West Virginia University, USA. He received his degrees in Forest Engineering from Northeast Forestry University, China. He received a M.S. in Computer Science from West Virginia University, and a Ph.D. in Forest Resource Management from the University of Georgia, USA. Before joining the faculty at West Virginia University, Dr. Wang had worked as a visiting Associate Professor at University of Helsinki in Finland for one year and a System Programmer with Computer Science Corporation in Atlanta, Georgia, USA for two years. Dr. Wang’s research interests include sustainable forest management, biomass utilization for bioenergy, carbon sequestration and optimization, computer simulation and system modeling, forestry best management practices and environmental impacts of forest operations. During the last four years, Dr. Wang has authored or co-authored 50 refereed papers, one patent in pending, and 21 proceedings papers; prepared 18 final technical project reports; and given 80 technical presentations. He leads and coordinates several multidisciplinary larger regional biomass energy projects funded by the US Department of Energy and US Department of Agriculture in collaborations with other universities, government agencies, and industry partners. Dr. Wang has been invited as a review panelist for the USDA and USDOE bioenergy/bioproducts proposals, and the China National Science Foundation’s forest management proposals over the last several years. He has been a reviewer for 10+ scientific journals and serves as Associate Editor or Editorial Board Member for three international journals.
