Today ,we are going to learn some adjectives to describe the TV shows. Step2.Learning 1a I say some verb phrases and you say some adjectives to describe them. Eg:--go to the park --listen to music --Watch an action movie -- play sports --Sleep all day --read a book --Listen to parents talking Teach the new words :meaningless Give students some time to write down correct words to describe the TV shows. What do you think of these TV shows and movies? Ask students to make sentences with the adjectives . Step 3 Listening practice 1b Listen and circle the description words you hear in the box in 1a. Description words are : Exciting ,meaningless,relaxing ,boring , enjoyable, wonderful 1c. Listen again. Ask :Who are making this conversation? Listen again.Write down the words John and Mary use to describe the TV shows or movies. Write a passage about John and Mary. John thinks action movies and scary movies are exciting .He thinks game shows and sitcoms are boring .He thinks talk shows are enjoyable. Mary thinks game shows and sitcoms are relaxing .She thinks acion movies and scary movies are meaningless.Sh- e thinks talk shows are wonderful . Step 4 Discussion Tell your partner what John and Mary like to watch and why. Then tell your partner what you like to watch and why . Eg: John wants to watch talk shows because theyre enjoyable. I like to watch action movies because they’re exciting. Step 5.Summary The adjectives that are used to describe the TV shows. Learn to talk about your preferences. And why. Step 6 Homework Copy the new words . Write a passage about John and Mary. Students work
