The large- scale thin- w alled steel cylindrical shells w idely used in the che ical or electric power engineering as the key facilities in the syste are alw ays located so e bea s internally to support the equip ents . Consequently, the shell w all is subj ected to local axial co pression fro the bea and the circu ferentially unifor ly distributed overall axial co pression resulting fro the self-w eight of the upper part and the roof. The structure has accu ulated so e stress and defor ation under the co bined loads . Once it suff ers the severe disaster of ice and snow additionally, there w ill be great load of snow quickly accu ulating on the roof w ith large area and the connecting pipes, w hich causes the f ailure. Based on the process of construction and service and in consideration of loading path, the overall unifor ly distributed axial co pression is f irstly applied then the local axial co pression, thirdly the unifor axial co pression is applied w hich si ulates the great load of ice and snow .
