SEMI-ANALYTICAL SOLUTION OF ONE-DIMENSIONAL
VISCO-ELASTIC CONSOLIDATION FORLAYERED SOFT CLAY

Abstract
A sem-i analytical solution of 1-D consolidation for layered soft clay is proposed in thepaper, it is based on themodel of
layered visco-elastic subsoil. At sametime, a computer program is developed. An examplefor the special case of layered soft
clay is shown that the proposed solution is very efficient. Moreover, a consolidation curve is obtained through a case of uni-
form loading on one load level. Some useful conclusions are obtained based on the computer results, the relevant behavior of
layered soft clay is discussed.
