In fact, mi age usually is corrupted by Gauss noise and mi pulse noise smi ultaneously, so good filtering effect cannot be ob tained if we on ly use average filter ormedian filter. In this paper, a new m ixture filterm ethod is proposed. The proposed m ethod first classsifies the pixels into two classes, one is the p ixelsw hich are corrupted by Gauss noise and the other is the pixels corrupted by mi pu lse noise and then average filter is used for the pixels corrupted by Gauss noise and m ed ian filter is used for the pixels corrupted by mi pu lse noise. The smi ulation resu lt verifies that the proposed m ethod is feasib le and efficient.
